In Times of Grief

Why do we pray when tragedy strikes?  Why do we seek God's comfort and strength when we have none?  Because nothing else, nor no one else has strength enough to hold us when we're broken.  There is no true alternative, no substitute to the Lord's embrace.  All other forms of "comfort" are only temporary and fall short of the love and grace God provides.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God. (Rom 8:38-39)
